Zakopane Mountains: Where 'breathtaking' is an understatement.

Another two hour bus ride took us to the most beautiful place we have been yet. The Zakopane mountains are in southern Poland, almost on the border of Slovakia. We took a short bus part of the way up the mountain, then two gondolas, and then hiked/slid/fell up the rest to the top. Full of skiers and snowboarders, we were obvious tourists in our not-hiking boots and not-warm enough winter jackets.

It was incredible. Beyond breathtaking, gorgeous, words can't describe the beauty. I have never felt so in awe of God's creation. You could see all of the mountains, some covered by clouds, only the peaks pointing through. The sun was shining, the snow was glistening and we were amazed.

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created."
Revelation: 4:11

There isn't really much to say, the pictures captured what they could, but they don't do it justice.

Once down the mountain, we found a nice Polish restaurant for dinner. We walked around the town for a bit, and then headed back to Krakow. We had an hour or so to spare in Krakow before we had to catch our night train back to Prague. All in all, I loved Poland. Krakow was a young and lively city, with gorgeous churches and castles. Auschwitz gave me a new look on life, and Zakopane blew me away, but back to Praha we go!
