This morning we met the whole group for our first tour of Praha. We met the newest girl, Molly and Eric, our program director. We headed straight to the metro and set out to Malostranska, the stop nearest Prague Castle.

We took the Petrin Vernicular, basically a train train that goes up a small mountainside, to the top of Petrin Hill. The view was spectacular. On Petrin Hill, there is a small version of the Eiffel tower. So up 300 stairs we went to the top! You could see ALL of Praha, every building, the river, it was beautiful. When they say that Praha is the most beautiful city in Europe, they aren't kidding.

We made it down the tower, but barely made it down the snow and ice covered pathway! Sliding, falling and laughing we all made it to the bottom without too many problems. From here we went to Prague Castle to see the changing of the guard. A bit different from London, you could see everything and it was a bit less serious. Eric took us all out to lunch at an authentic Czech restaurant where we had sirloin and dumplings (not like American dumplings, more of a doughy bread). Then onto the Castle tour...

This is no ordinary castle, it is more of a huge village of buildings, hallways and staircases! We saw the main halls, some cool towers and a few torture chambers and dungeons. We walked past Kafka's house, now a small tourist shop. I would like to come back and spend more time, on a sunny day everything is so great!
