VISAAAAA.

View from our train. The little mountain towns were so cute!
Dresden.
Dresden streets.

Visas are not fun.

Yesterday morning Devon and I headed into Prague to find the US embassy, hoping to get some help on our visa application. Unfortunately they told us things we already knew or didn't want to hear. I had spent so many hours worrying about all of this, so I decided to not worry anymore! There was nothing I could do, it was out of my control.

Kirby, the other girl from GCC arrived after a bit of her own trouble and I attempted to meet up with her and Becca in the afternoon. After us all walking in circles trying to find each other at the metro stop, we gave up. I resorted to walking around town a bit, I found some great second hand shops as well!

In the evening we decided to try again and meet up. It worked! The three of us met at the Muzeum stop and found a great little shop to buy gyros for dinner and then headed back to their hostel. We met two great Australians, Anna and Matt, in the bar downstairs and spent some time talking with them. We all wanted to call it an early night, I had to get up at 4:45am this morning...

So yes, it was VERY early, but our train left at 6:30am and it was a little ways to the station. The day was finally here, would we get our visas? The train was really nice, and we all were able to spread out and get a little sleep. The view driving into Germany was breathtaking. We were right along the river and there are these little towns of beautiful homes set right along the shoreline. It was something that you would see in books or movies, but never though they existed. Some towns were seated in the valleys between the mountains, straight out of a storybook =)

We made it to Dresden and had to catch a tram and then a taxi to make it to the embassy in time. After 3 hours of lots of signatures, forms, notarization's, and interviews we made it out, successful! We will have to head back to Dresden in a month or so to pick them up. We had a few hours to spare until our train left for Prague, so we walked around the city for an hour or so. There are some beautiful old buildings in the area, but it was a bit too cold to be extremely enjoyable.

After another 2 1/2 hours train ride back to Prague, we made it back to the apartment with enough time to shower, eat, and pack up. As of now, we are about to head to the train station again and hop on a night train with the whole group and set out for Krakow, Poland!!

It is such a relief to have all of this visa crap behind us, now with no stress, I can relax and fully enjoy myself!
